As a rule, moisture tends to move from areas of high concentration to areas of lower concentration. When a high concentration of moisture is transferred to a wicking fabric, the large surface area of the wicking fabric distributes the water molecules over a much greater surface area, so the relative concentration is lower. As such, the water is encouraged to move from the higher concentration on your skin to the lower concentration on the fabric.
